Lady Lake sits entirely in Lake County, which puts it under the St. Johns River Water Management District, a different agency than the Southwest Florida Water Management District that governs the Sumter and Marion County portions of The Villages. A small, older town with a specific housing mix

Lady Lake had a 2020 census population of 15,970 spread across about 8.3 square miles, giving it one of the higher population densities of the towns in our service area. Established around 1883 as a railroad community and incorporated as a town in 1925, Lady Lake has both its own long-standing residential neighborhoods and the newer growth that came with its role as the literal starting point of The Villages development next door.
